2013 South & South East in Bloom Competition

The Regional 'In Bloom 'Results were announced at the Awards Ceremony held in Royal Tunbridge Wells on Wednesday, 11th September. For the second year in succession the Town was awarded a 'Silver Gilt' Medal in the Small Town Category. The winner, as last year, was Cranbrook in Kent which also won a Silver Gilt. There were nine entries across the Region, stretching from Dorset to Kent in the Small Town Category including two others in Dorset, Wareham and West Parley. Three of the other entries won Silver Gilts, two received Silvers and one a Bronze.

The judges report stated that 'Wimborne in Bloom is a long established entry working with the traditions of the bloom in an historical setting with a dedicated voluntary team whom work tirelessly through the year. Community engagement is at the heart of the campaign and they particularly praised the fact that the whole route was spotless with no litter whatsoever or any evidence of environmental abuse'.

In the Discretionary Awards the Green Man Public House won the Pub and Restaurant Award in the Region.
