29 Local Charities and Organisations, manning 39 tables took part in the Grand Charities Fair organised by Wimborne in Bloom and held in the Allendale Centre, Wimborne Minster on Saturday 9th November. Between them they raised over £3,000 for the various causes they represented. Stalls included those raising money for Friends of Victoria Hospital, Vision Wimborne, Prama Care and the Children's Society whilst the Town Mayor Councillor Andy Hampton, who opened the Fair, had a stall raising money for his Charities, Wimborne in Bloom, Dreamboats and the Gunstone Trust.

"We had over 700 visitors during the day", said Richard Nunn, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom "and we hope that it gave the various Charities and Organisations represented an opportunity to show off their wares and publicise themselves".

Wimborne in Bloom itself had a successful table with five Hampers as prizes and also the proceeds from the entrance money. Two of the five Hampers were generously donated, one by Vines Close Farm and the other by Edwards, Estate Agents.

Our next fundraising event is the Pre-Christmas Coffee morning being held on Saturday 16th November at the home of Anthony and Christine Oliver, 34 Park Lane, Wimborne Minster from 10.00am until 12noon. All are welcome. Next years Charities Fair will be held on Saturday 8th November 2014.
