Gardens Open

June The second week of June has seen a hive of activity by Members of Wimborne in Bloom as the summer planting up of the Town has taken place. On one of the hottest days of the year so far over 150 Hanging Baskets and several window boxes have been put up, help with their erection being given by the Town Council Groundsmen. The Baskets were provided by Beecroft Nurseries. Dutch Touch planted up nearly 90 planters and a dozen Flower Towers and they will water these from now until the end of the summer. We hope that all this will give a good display of colour throughout the main areas of the Town to well into the autumn.

The funds raised from the various events organised throughout the year by Wimborne in Bloom fund all the planting which is carried out both in the summer and in the autumn with help from the Businesses who kindly have the hanging baskets on their premises. Wimborne in Bloom is a completely Voluntary run Charity and donations are always welcome so that we can continue to maintain the high standards we have for now over 30 years.

2020 Highlights

Wimborne in Bloom is a completely voluntary organisation. We need to raise in excess of £20,000 a year to fund our operation and maintain our high standards. The fund-raising events arranged are listed here. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who would be willing to host an event for us.

Donations are always welcome and can be made directly to our charity using the Just Giving link below.

Almost all of the money raised through our fund-raising events goes towards purchasing the summer and winter flowers and plants to fill the many planters, tubs and towers located throughout the town and then pay for their regular watering throughout the long summer months. Any money left-over goes towards replacement planters, tubs, the costs associated with staging the fund-raising events and our entry into regional/national competitions.
