2026 Open Gardens Day - Raises over £5,500
It was slightly cooler than the previous few days when 19 Gardens were opened in and around the Town of Wimborne Minster on Sunday 28th June to raise money for Wimborne in Bloom. Although the attendance was a little lower than last year over 370 people paid £10.00 a head to visit the different gardens. Refreshments were available at some of the gardens along with Plant Sales and a special performance by the Frayed Strings ukulele band to cap the day's attractions.
John Allen, Wimborne in Bloom Committee Member who Co-ordinated the day said, "It was a real treat for all the visitors on the day to have such a wonderful and varied selection of gardens on display. These ranged from small hedgehog friendly plots, through courtyard gardens, formal plots, to a wide-open terraced garden with sweeping vistas. Once again the many enthusiastic gardeners in and around Wimborne were able to showcase what can be achieved with a bit of perseverance through the winter deluges, spring cold snaps and summer heat waves. And all in aid of a good cause."
