26th ANNUAL DUCK RACE RAISES OVER £1,400
The 26th Annual Duck Race to be staged in aid of Wimborne in Bloom funds took place on the River Allen on Saturday 29th August 2026 at 3pm. After months of endless sunshine and zero rain the weather changed just hours before the event and risked making the whole afternoon a soggy non-event (but great for ducks!). As it turned out the rain eased off just in time for the race and a good crowd gathered near the Riverside Mews Cafe to see 1,000 ducks being launched into the river under the instructions of Town Crier Chris Brown.

Wimborne in Bloom is very grateful to Puddle Ducks Dorset for their kind sponsorship of this event once again. Thanks also to the Slocock Trust for permission to use the launch area and to the Rising Sun for permission to use their rear garden for the finish line.
