WIMBORNE IN BLOOM OPEN GARDENS DAY RAISES NEARLY £4,500

Wimborne in Bloom, celebrating its 30th anniversary year held its Open Gardens Day on the last Sunday in June. Once again it was a successful event with twenty two gardens open including four new ones and one returning from a previous year.

Richard Nunn, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom speaking after the event said, "Wimborne in Bloom takes the opportunity to thank all of the approx. 400 members of the public who visited and supported our Open Gardens Day on Sunday 26th June. The threatening forecast did not put off the visitors and all were rewarded with a lovely day enjoying wandering around the 22 gardens that were open in and around the Town of Wimborne Minster. Those selling refreshments and plants were well supported and helped boost the amount raised on the day to almost £4500 - a superb result which will help in a major way to fund the floral displays in the Town.

Perhaps the biggest ‘thank you’ is to those who spent the day taking visitors around their gardens and, of course, spending many long hours prior so that they were in pristine condition. We were also particularly grateful to Christopher Batten, Estate Agents for their generous sponsoring of the event. We look forward to all supporting again next year
