2022 Wine & Wisdom Quiz
The 28th Annual Wimborne in Bloom Wine & Wisdom Quiz Evening returned, after a year's absence due to COVID-19, on Friday 4th March to the Allendale Centre om the exact anniversary of the first Quiz held, on that occasion in the Town Hall. Twenty four teams pitted their wits against each other with eight rounds of questions including such subjects as "Once Upon A Time", "Garden Trivia" and "Food". It was a closely fought contest with the Allendale Bridge Club coming out on top and winning the Eco Composting Trophy. Each member of the Team also received a bottle of red wine. In joint Second Place and only one point behind were the Wimborne-Valognes Twinning Association and The Museum Masterminds from the Museum of East Dorset, formerly known as the Priest House Museum under which name they were the winners in that first year. Propping up the rest of the Teams were the Dorset Strollers each member receiving a chocolate orange.

There was a successful Raffle with some good prizes. The first prize from O'Hara's Funeral Service of Vouchers to spend at Renoufs was won by a member of the Museum Team so it made up for being beaten into second place!
Although the total raised from the evening is not available at the time of writing the Raffle raised £376 and thanks to Barclays Bank Matched Fundraising Scheme within their work in the community programme well over £1,000 will have been raised which will be used towards filling up the Flower Towers and Planters around Town this summer.

As people left the Allendale Centre there were many comments of what an enjoyable evening it had been with a good atmosphere throughout.
Wimborne in Bloom thanks all who supported the event by participating, helping with the running, providing the refreshments or who generously donated prizes for the raffle. The funds raised make an excellent contribution to the cost of providing the floral displays in the Town for all to enjoy.
And all being well next year’s Quiz Evening will take place on Friday 3rd March 2023 so book the date in your diaries now!
