WIB Summer Open Gardens Day 2024

Open Gardens Day

Wimborne in Bloom Open Gardens Day on Sunday 30th June has been deemed another success story. 20 Gardens in and around the Town of Wimborne Minster were open from 11.00am until 5.00pm. Visitors paid £7.50 at the first garden visited which then covered the visit to all the gardens.

Les Halton, Wimborne in Bloom Committee Member who Organisers and Co-ordinates the day said, "After we had the Spring Collection of Gardens open in May we wondered how the second opening in the same year would go. We need not have worried because the day was a great success. After the early rain and the football later this could easily have had an effect on numbers attending but we still had over 400 visitors. Trade was also brisk at the Gardens where Teas were sold".

Les continued, "A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success from those who opened their gardens, those who provided Teas in five of the venues, all the visitors who came from not only Dorset and Hampshire but much further afield and the support Wimborne in Bloom received from Christopher Batten which was so much appreciated.
