2025 Wine & Wisdom Quiz raises over £1,000

The 31st Annual Wimborne in Bloom Wine and Wisdom Quiz Evening took place on Friday 7th March in the Allendale Centre, Wimborne Minster. The main hall accommodated a full turnout of 28 Teams all set to pit their wits against each other in an attempt to win the coveted Eco Composting Shield.
There were eight rounds of questions on a variety of subjects including Musicals, Operas, Down on the Farm, Italy and General Knowledge. A break after four rounds and Teams enjoyed a shared platter of food whilst answering a fun picture round.
After a hard fought ‘battle’ and for the second year in succession there was a tie for first place between a team aptly named "Flower Power" and "Planet Wimborne". "Flower Power" won the tie break question and so were declared the winners and thus received the Eco Composting Trophy. Each member of the Team also received a bottle of red wine. Propping up the rest of the Teams was a first time entry to the Quiz made up of Staff from Waitrose each member receiving a mini chocolate egg.

Although the final total raised from the evening is not available at the time of writing the Raffle raised over £440.
Judging by the amount of comments from people as they left the Allendale Centre and also received since the evening it was obvious that those present had enjoyed the evening and that there had been a good atmosphere throughout the event. The Town Mayor Cllr Jeff Hart, who entered with a Team of Councillors wrote after the event, "that it was very well organised; enjoyable; purposeful. Well done to all".

Wimborne in Bloom thanks all who supported the event by participating, helping with the running, providing the refreshments or who generously donated prizes for the raffle. The funds raised which will be well over a £1,000 when all proceeds are accounted for makes an excellent contribution to the cost of providing the floral displays in the Town for all to enjoy.
